A Bruxelles, le Centre artistique iMALpresente "Tales that are never told", une vidéo des activistes internet Toxic Lesbian. Ce projet spécialement réalisé est montré sur l'écran de la Place Flagey de la ville.

Toxic Lesbian est un collectif artistique et activiste espagnol de femmes lesbiennes (et autres) qui débattent autour de problèmes de société, et particulièrement liés à l’orientation sexuelle, au travers de documentaires, performances ou tout autre moyen d’expression artistique. Leurs projets sont diffusés au travers de leurs chaînes www.youtube.com/TOXICLESBIAN, www.youtube.com/ELENATOXICA, www.elenatoxica.blip.tv et leur chaine du stream www.toxiclesbian.org

Au travers de récits de personnes souffrant de dépression ou ayant souffert de leur homosexualité, traitée auparavant comme problème psychologique, le public est amené à engager le dialogue sur le thème de la santé mentale. Cette vidéo prenante, réalisée pour l’écran du Medialab Prado à Madrid, tend à sensibiliser et ouvrir le débat sur un sujet bien souvent tabou, ici ou ailleurs.

2010, Cuentos que Nunca Cuentan: ZeroEstigma

Las personas que colaboran con Toxic Lesbian en este proyecto, abordan la perspectiva del estigma relacionado con Salud Mental, de modo más específico cómo atañe a la mujer e investiga las circunstancias que rodean a la estigmatización del lesbianismo en este mismo contexto.

Toxic Lesbian no se atribuye género ni orientación sexual determinada en las colaboraciones con las que realiza sus proyectos a partir de 2008.

Toxic Lesbian surge en 2005 como un grupo artístico y activista de lesbianas que posteriormente mantiene la perspectiva de género y de orientación sexual para realizar sus propuestas, pero trasciende el limitador hecho de ser llevado a cabo por mujeres lesbianas. Proponemos que sea cualquier persona capaz de realiza una lectura de la sociedad y del arte desde estas dos coordenadas quienes trabajen en estos proyectos como autores. El hecho de tener un género o una orientación sexual no faculta por sí mismo para incorporar este punto de vista, como hemos comprobado en nuestra trayectoria. Hombres o mujeres de cualquier orientación, transexuales masculinos o femeninos pueden tener los recursos para ver y crear desde estas perspectivas. En este sentido nuestrapropuesta es abierta, sin ánimo de exclusión ninguna.

"Tales that are never told: ZeroEstigma" from a gender and sexual orientation aims to contribute to visualize a part of the history of women and lesbians in Spain, regarding the role of mental control in society. Collaboratively, people of all genres will build the final image of the project, the meaning of stigma in mental health. This taboo for society, surrounded by prejudice against the dignity and installed in all aspects of our environment (media, literature, film ...) maintains the belief of a shameful reality that must remain hidden.
Since 2008, Lesbian Toxic does not impose gender and sexual orientation to participants in its projects. Toxic Lesbian emerges in 2005 as an artistic and lesbian activist who subsequently keeps the perspective of gender and sexual orientation to make its proposals that had to be conducted by lesbian women. Now we propose that anyone, working in these projects as an author, can have its own view about society and art . Having a gender or sexual orientation does not empower anyone to exclusively defend any point of view, as we have realized during our career. Men or women of any orientation, male or female transsexuals, may have the resources to create from these perspectives. In this respect, our proposal is open and does not exclude anybody. We try to represent our society from our own point of view, incorporating as many contributions as possible.
Individuals collaborating with Lesbian Toxic project, address the perspective of the stigma associated with mental health, more specifically how it relates to women, and investigates the circumstances surrounding the stigma of lesbianism in the same context. The artistic model of Toxic Lesbian goes from pure artistic language to virtual and live action, creation and investigation processes, including all kind of collaborations. An essential concept of their proposals is to generate works that do not have a commercial format but ephimeralsl and easy to disseminate ones. In this sense, all proposed projects strogly connected with art, are conceived like performances. Around them, video art productions are the link with the visual language that will generate documentaries about collective social interaction and other testimonies related to the project.
